About Me

Hi, I’m Daniel.

Meeting Bear Grylls, Adventurer and UK Chief Scout, backstage at his live show in Manchester (2012). Thanks Craghoppers!

I’m an Explorer Scout Leader and Charity Trustee at 4th Huddersfield (Golcar) Scout Group, an active and adventurous Scout Group with over 180 members!

Scouting has provided me with many opportunities, both locally and internationally. I have attended two World Scout Jamborees, the first one in 2007 in Chelmsford, UK and the second one held in Rinkaby, Sweden in 2011. In 2010 along with the rest of the leader team at 4th Golcar we took the Scout Troop and Explorer Scout Unit to Kandersteg in Switzerland, which was an awesome 10 days! I also attended WAM 2014, the Australian Rover Moot in Perth, Western Australia in 2013/2014!

I’m also a CEOP Ambassador (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, for those of you who have never heard of CEOP before). As an Ambassador I deliver training to young people and I can also train other professionals to enable them to deliver the ThinkUKnow training to young people aged between 11 and 16 years old.

My camera comes with me on all our Scouting adventures and you can check out some of my photos in the Photography category here, or check out our photo galleries on photos.4thgolcar.org.uk.

I also enjoy website development, with my current projects including 4thgolcar.org.uk and golcarscc.org.uk.
