During the 22nd World Scout Jamboree, in Rinkaby, Sweden, the theme was ‘Simply Scouting’. All contingents were encouraged to build gateways and structures on their little campsite in a field of 40,000 Scouts! This is one of my favourite photos showing the building of these gateways!

The Scout Association has recently announced the consultation on the revised fundamentals of the movement. You can find the updated fundamentals on scouts.org.uk/fundamentals But what does this actually mean? The revised fundamentals updates the purpose of Scouting and the Scout method but most importantly replaces ‘the principles of Scouting’ with ‘the values of Scouting’. But ...
